URSB Strategic Plan IV Aligned with Uganda Vision 2040 to Drive National Transformation

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has reaffirmed its commitment to national development through its Mandate and Strategic Plan IV (SP IV), which is closely aligned with the aspirations of Uganda Vision 2040.

This national blueprint aims to transform Uganda into a modern and prosperous country by strengthening institutional frameworks, enhancing competitiveness, and fostering innovation, industrialization, and good governance.

URSB plays a central role in realising this vision through a range of strategic interventions. By providing efficient registration services in business, intellectual property, and secured transactions, URSB supports the growth of a strong private sector. This, in turn, fuels job creation, productivity, and national revenue.

Additionally, URSB promotes the formalisation of enterprises, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), contributing to an expanded tax base and inclusive economic development. Formal businesses are better positioned to access opportunities, markets, and support services, which are essential for long-term sustainability.

The Bureau also fosters a knowledge-based economy by safeguarding intellectual property rights. Through patents, trademarks, and copyrights, URSB encourages innovation and creativity, in direct alignment with Vision 2040’s emphasis on knowledge and technology as key drivers of development.

Furthermore, the Security Interest in Movable Property Registry System (SIMPO) is enhancing access to credit for MSMEs, empowering entrepreneurs to grow and invest in their businesses.

Through Strategic Plan IV, URSB continues to deliver on its mandate while contributing meaningfully to Uganda’s transformation agenda under Vision 2040.
