URSB DONATES ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES TO MASAKA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF IN COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has reaffirmed its commitment to community empowerment and social inclusion through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach initiative where the Bureau donate essential food items, sanitary supplies, and other welfare materials to Masaka School for the Deaf.
The donation was delivered by Registrar General Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho on June 19, and received by the School Director, Mr. Francis Kamulegeya, at the school’s premises in Masaka.
Masaka School for the Deaf is a specialised educational institution that provides nursery, primary, and basic vocational education to deaf and hearing-impaired children. Beyond academics, the school promotes sports, music, dance, drama, and family empowerment programmes aimed at ensuring children with special needs receive the care, support, and opportunities necessary to thrive.

Speaking during the visit, Ms. Kainobwisho said URSB remains committed to supporting vulnerable communities as part of its broader mission of contributing to national development.
“At URSB, we believe that sustainable development requires collective action and a commitment to uplifting the most vulnerable members of society. Supporting institutions such as Masaka School for the Deaf reflects our dedication to inclusion, dignity, and creating opportunities for every Ugandan to realise their full potential,” she said.
She added that the Bureau’s CSR programme continues to focus on initiatives that improve community welfare and complement government efforts to enhance education, social protection, and livelihoods across the country.

Receiving the donation, Mr. Kamulegeya expressed appreciation to URSB for its generosity and recognition of the needs of children living with disabilities.
“We are grateful to URSB for this timely support and for taking the time to engage with our learners and staff. Such partnerships are critical in enabling us to provide a conducive learning environment and better care for the children entrusted to us,” he said.
Mr. Kamulegeya, a respected former corporate executive who chose to dedicate his life to serving vulnerable children, was commended by the URSB team for his commitment to improving the lives of deaf and hearing-impaired learners.
