Registrar General urges business registration team to prioritise service, integrity and excellence

The Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, has called on staff in the Directorate of Business Registration to recommit to the Uganda Registration Services Bureau’s core values of client-centred service, integrity, excellence, and continuous learning.

Speaking during the Directorate’s performance review retreat held at Forest Park in Buloba, the Registrar
General emphasised the need for every officer to see themselves as a frontline ambassador of national
development. She noted that efficient business registration is the foundation upon which Uganda’s formal economy is built, and as such, URSB staff must uphold the highest standards of professionalism
and responsiveness.

“Our clients must feel the difference when they walk into our offices or interact with us online. We are not
just registering businesses — we are empowering livelihoods, enabling jobs, and fueling national growth,”
she said.

She also encouraged the team to embrace continuous learning, innovation, and teamwork as tools to
improve productivity and remain adaptive to changing trends in business service delivery.

The Registrar General’s remarks were followed by a series of presentations from the Business Registration
leadership, including Director Mustapher Ntale, and Managers, Patricia Opoka, Walid Kule, and SIMPO’s
Yvonne Atwiine, who highlighted progress made and areas for strategic improvement.

The Registrar General concluded by commending the team for their efforts and urged them to continue aligning their work with the Bureau’s long-term vision of being a world-class registration institution that drives economic transformation.
