ODPP officials laud URSB and seek to adopt best practices
In a remarkable show of admiration and a desire to learn, top officials from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), led by the Director, Hon. Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo, recently visited the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) to benchmark and explore ways to enhance service delivery within their departments.
During the visit, Lady Justice Abodo expressed how impressed she had been then and during a previous induction visit with another team of permanent secretaries.
She highlighted that while her team had started working on prosecution case management as far back as 2016, progress had been slow. However, she conveyed renewed hope and commitment to adopting URSB’s effective systems and practices. “We want to adopt your methods and learn from you. I am sure that after this visit, things are going to change,” she stated.
Commending URSB for its innovation, transparency, and excellence in service delivery, Lady Justice Abodo noted that the bureau had become a benchmark for good governance. “You are doing a great job; it is well recognised. People appreciate your efforts. URSB is the one government entity that is being talked about everywhere,” she remarked.
She concluded by thanking URSB for their hospitality and willingness to share their knowledge. “What you have shared is invaluable. Thank you so much for your generosity; you have a wonderful facility,” she said.
The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration and peer learning among government agencies.
