URSB, BRELA to explore staff exchange programme

Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and the Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELA) of Tanzania have proposed the implementation of a staff exchange programme between the two entities aimed at exposing staff to best practices and cultures from different jurisdictions.

The proposal was made by Mr. Godfrey Nyaisa, CEO of BRELA, during a courtesy visit to URSB on Thursday 3rd April 2025. Mr. Nyaisa expressed his appreciation to the management and staff of URSB for the transformation registered so far, adding that URSB was a clear example of how public institutions can be efficiently run to provide services.

He noted URSB’s all-digital, all-online strategy that incorporated digital and online tools in its operations as a key success factor for driving efficiency. He noted that it was important for the sister institutions in the East African Community to establish a joint working group as a means to improve collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The Board Secretary, Ms. Carol Egesa, who represented the Registrar General, thanked Mr. Nyaisa for taking time to visit URSB saying it was a clear testimony of the cordial working relationship between URSB and BRELA.

She welcomed the proposal for the staff exchange programme and pledged to present it to management for consideration. She informed Mr. Nyaisa that URSB is always exploring avenues to improve service delivery and agencies such as BRELA were key and reaffirmed URSB’s readiness for collaboration.
