Board Chairman Butagira Champions Legal Accessibility at URSB Case Digest Launch
At the launch of the inaugural Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Case Digest on June 25, 2025, Board Chairman Rt. Hon. Amb. Canon Francis K. Butagira delivered a powerful address, emphasizing the critical role of accessible legal information in fostering innovation and investment in Uganda.
Amb. Butagira articulated his vision for the Case Digest, stating, “This publication will not only serve legal practitioners, academics, and policymakers but will also empower entrepreneurs by demystifying the legal processes that underpin our commercial justice system.” His remarks underscored the transformative potential of clear legal frameworks in driving sustainable development.
Reflecting on his extensive experience as a lawyer, parliamentarian, and diplomat, Butagira noted, “I have seen the pivotal role that clear, accessible legal frameworks play in fostering innovation.” He expressed pride in URSB’s ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and promoting a culture of excellence within the legal sector.
In a call to action for all stakeholders, Butagira urged, “Let us continue working together to build a robust legal ecosystem that supports innovation, protects rights, and drives Uganda’s progress.”
The Board Chair’s commitment to fostering collaboration among legal practitioners, academia, and government agencies was evident as he celebrated the collective effort that brought the Case Digest to life.
