URSB Joins Thousands in Nationwide Run Against Cancer

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) joined thousands of Ugandans on Sunday in the 15th edition of the Rotary Cancer Run, lending its support to a national campaign aimed at raising awareness and mobilising resources for cancer treatment.

URSB staff participated in the run held at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala and other parts of the country under the theme “Ggwanga Mujje”, which calls on Ugandans to unite in the fight against cancer.

The annual event comprised individuals, government institutions, businesses and community organisations to support cancer prevention, treatment and care.

This year’s run focused on raising funds towards the completion of the cancer treatment centre at St Francis Hospital, Nsambya. The facility is expected to strengthen access to specialised cancer care, including advanced radiotherapy services.

URSB’s participation reflects the Bureau’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and supporting national causes that directly affect the communities it serves.

By taking part, staff joined a collective effort to promote awareness, encourage early screening and stand in solidarity with cancer patients, survivors and affected families.

As cancer continues to affect families across Uganda, initiatives such as the Cancer Run provide an important platform for raising awareness, mobilising support and strengthening community participation in the country’s response to the disease.
