Top Universities Advance to URSB Moot Court Oral Rounds
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has released results from the evaluation of memorial submissions for the 2026 World Intellectual Property Day Moot Court Competition.
A total of eleven universities submitted written arguments, aligning with a growing interest in intellectual property law among students across the country. Following the assessment, four universities have qualified for the oral rounds.
In Pool A, Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) will face Uganda Christian University (UCU), while Pool B will comprise Makerere University (MUK) and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).
The oral rounds are scheduled to take place on April 22 and 24, 2026, at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre in Kololo. The sessions will test participants’ advocacy skills, legal reasoning, and understanding of intellectual property principles.
URSB congratulates all participating universities for their effort and dedication, noting that the competition will provide a platform for nurturing future legal professionals in the field of intellectual property.
All universities that submitted memorials have also been invited to attend the final round, which will be held on April 24, 2026, as part of the World Intellectual Property Day celebrations. The finals will take place at the URSB Head Office auditorium starting at 8:00 am.
