“Have a Role to Play” – Registrar General Inspires Staff at Annual Sports Gala
The Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, urged staff to acknowledge and appreciate their contributions to the institution’s success during the URSB Annual Sports Gala held at Kampala Parents School.
Delivering her remarks at the Gala on Saturday, Ms. Kainobwisho commended the energy, commitment, and team spirit displayed throughout the day’s events, including the relays, sack race, tug of war, and football.
“I could see you were prepared for us,” she noted, acknowledging the passion shown by participants. “This was not just a sports event. Everybody had a role to play, and that’s the lesson we must carry forward.”
Drawing a parallel between life and sport, the Registrar General likened challenges to a tug of war, urging the URSB family to invest effort in both personal and professional spheres. “You may not be in a physical war, but life has its emotional and spiritual tug-of-wars. We must use our energy wisely, to rise, to reflect, or to reset.”
Ms. Kainobwisho thanked the organizing committee, staff, and partners for making the event a success, and reminded everyone that institutional excellence requires every team member to be active and intentional.
“As we leave today, ask yourself, what skill can I use to play my part in the URSB field?” she posed. “Because beyond the office, we are also parents, spouses, citizens. Let’s all move with purpose.”
Her final message emphasized, “Have a role to play. Don’t just move without direction.”
