URSB Expands Business Rescue Program to the Regions
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), with support from the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), last week launched the Regional Business Rescue and Aftercare Program (BRAP) in Mbale City under the theme, “Skilling for Business Growth and Sustainability.”
The three-day training, taking place from 18th to 20th May 2026, marked the expansion of the program beyond Kampala to regional centres across Uganda.
The launch in Mbale Courts View Hotel was presided over by the Commissioner Copyright and Neighbouring Rights, Ms. Miriam Nabatanzi who represented the Registrar General, the Country Manager of IDLO Ms. Barbara Kilei, and the Resident City Commissioner of Mbale City.

First launched in November 2023 in Kampala, BRAP was introduced to support Uganda’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with practical business recovery and sustainability skills. The initiative is aimed at helping businesses overcome operational and financial challenges that threaten their survival.
The program has now been rolled out to Mbale, Tororo, Jinja, Mbarara, Masaka, Arua, Gulu, Lira, Hoima and Fort Portal, bringing business support services closer to entrepreneurs across the country.
Participants will receive training in financial management, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, contract management, operational efficiency and restructuring techniques. The sessions will be facilitated by consultant Mr. James Bulenzibuto alongside other experts through interactive in-person engagements.
URSB says the regional expansion reflects its commitment to strengthening businesses and promoting long-term enterprise growth and sustainability in Uganda.
