Jinja RCC rallies stakeholders to embrace NIR

The Jinja Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Salim Komakekech, has rallied leaders and other stakeholders across the Busoga region to collectively embrace the government’s new reform of establishing the Non-Individual Register (NIR).

Speaking as the guest of honor during the NIR stakeholders’ engagement last week for Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), Commercial Officers, Community Development Officers, the Private and Civil Society at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja, Komakech called for a collective responsibility to encourage all Non-Individual Entities to comply with the relevant requirements.

RCC Komakech implored all stakeholders to ensure that entity registration data is harmonized under the Non-Individual Register.

Under the Centralised Non-Individual Register, entities will each be issued a unique Entity Registration Number (ERN). The issuance of the Entity Registration Number to each entity will go a long way in strengthening transparency, accountability and efficiency in service delivery across government.

“The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, remains committed to the successful establishment and operationalisation of the Non-Individual Register” RCC Komakech noted.

Representing the Registrar General, Commissioner Finance and Administration, Ambrose Ekaju expressed the Bureau’s commitment to strengthening systems that enhance transparency, efficiency, and coordination across government and the private sector.

He further explained that the Non-Individual Register will address the challenges of fragmented data, duplication, and inefficiencies by creating a unified system.

He called on all stakeholders and partners to support the successful implementation of the Non-Individual Register.
