Taking Business Registration Closer To Entrepreneurs: URSB Heads to Buyende and Bugweri
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is taking its Mass Business Registration Clinics to Buyende and Bugweri districts from 2nd to 7th October 2026, bringing essential business registration services closer to entrepreneurs and small business Owners.
The clinics will provide on-site support to entrepreneurs to register business names and companies, access guidance on formalisation, and understand the benefits of operating registered businesses.
The outreach is part of URSB’s sustained effort to reduce barriers to formalisation, improve access to registration services and support inclusive economic growth.
Speaking about the initiative, Patricia Opoka, Assistant Commissioner, Registration Services, said: “We want entrepreneurs to see business registration not as a burden, but as an important first step towards growth. Through these clinics, URSB is bringing services closer to communities, helping businesses formalize, build credibility and access opportunities.”

Launched in FY2023/24, the Mass Business Registration initiative has recorded significant gains. Over three years, URSB conducted 187 registration clinics, facilitated 17,790 business registrations, comprising 5,211 companies and 12,579 business names and reached 60,199 clients.
The initiative also generated UGX 8.65 billion in non-tax revenue. Through the Buyende and Bugweri outreach, URSB continues to advance business formalisation, strengthen the national business register and empower local enterprises to register, protect and grow.
