URSB engages Levixone on copyright protection ahead of concert
Gospel musician Levixone visited the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) to discuss copyright registration and his concert, as the bureau encourages creatives to protect their work and benefit from their talent.
During the visit, the artiste discussed A One Tym Experience, scheduled for November 7, 2026, at Kampala Serena Hotel.
The visit follows the Symposium on Copyright and Related Rights Management held in Kampala from October 19 to 21. Organised by URSB with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization, the meeting brought together stakeholders to explore ways of strengthening copyright protection and managing creative works.
Discussions focused on collective management, licensing, royalty administration, enforcement, digital piracy and cooperation. Participants highlighted the need for systems that help creators receive fair returns when their work is used commercially.

For musicians such as Levixone, copyright protection matters because songs, lyrics, and recordings are creative assets. Understanding ownership and documenting agreements can help artists protect their interests and reduce disputes over how their work is used and earnings are shared.
URSB supports creators through copyright administration, public awareness, and guidance on protecting their works. The bureau has urged creatives to formalise agreements and understand their rights.

As fans prepare for A One Tym Experience, the visit reinforces the message that making music matters, and protecting the work behind the music matters too.
