INSPIRING CHANGE: URSB’S MERCY K. KAINOBWISHO AND CHARLOTTE KAINERUGABA DISCUSS WOMEN’S HEALTH AT NATIONAL AWARDS
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, joined national leaders, health advocates, and development partners at the 5th National Safe Motherhood Awards, held on Friday, 24th October 2025, at the Speke Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo.
Organised by the Ministry of Health and its partners, the event celebrated exceptional individuals and organizations championing maternal and child health across Uganda.
During the awards ceremony, Ms. Kainobwisho shared a thoughtful interaction with Ms. Charlotte Nankunda Kainerugaba, wife of the Chief of Defence Forces, discussing shared interests in women’s health, family well-being, and the empowerment of mothers as a cornerstone for national development.
Their exchange highlighted the critical need for continued advocacy, collaboration, and innovation in improving maternal healthcare services across Uganda.
URSB was among the organizations recognized for its outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly its donation of maternal health equipment, including a mobile ultrasound machine, baby scales, and glucometer strips, to Kawempe National Referral Hospital in
April 2023.
