Do Not Take Opportunities for Granted – Registrar General
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau welcomed its newest team members during an induction ceremony held at the UBFC Auditorium last week. The event, organized by the Department of Human Resources, was officiated by the Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, who offered inspiring guidance to the recruits.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Kainobwisho likened the bureau to a garden of opportunities, where growth and development await those ready to nurture their potential. “You will find yourselves in the company of influential leaders,” she said, “but you will be judged for your youth.” She urged the new staff to embrace humility, preparation, and adaptability, reminding them that “your character and skills will guide you to various opportunities.”
She emphasized the importance of flexibility, encouraging them to accept any role assigned with commitment. “Time wasted is money wasted at URSB,” she warned, highlighting the value of a proactive mindset and the need to consistently add value to the organization.
Ms. Kainobwisho also stressed the power of learning, networking, and active participation in the bureau’s activities. “It’s up to you to seize every opportunity presented,” she said.
Concluding her address, the Registrar General challenged the recruits to transform their theoretical knowledge into practical results from the very first day, fully immersing themselves in URSB’s culture and mission.
