URSB promotes business formalisation at Mbarara Traders’ Forum
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Mbarara Regional Office actively participated in the Mbarara City Traders’ Business Finance Forum 2025 last week, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs.
The forum, organised by the Bank of Uganda in partnership with the Mbarara City Traders Association (MBACITA), brought together traders and business owners to discuss critical financial solutions and regulatory frameworks affecting their operations.
During the event, URSB representatives outlined the bureau’s core mandate of business registration while emphasising the substantial benefits of business formalisation. Participants learned how proper registration opens doors to formal financing, enhances credibility with customers and suppliers, and provides legal protection for business operations.
The URSB team addressed common misconceptions about the registration process, demonstrating how streamlined procedures have made business formalisation more accessible than ever before. They
highlighted recent improvements in service delivery and the availability of online registration platforms that reduce bureaucratic hurdles.
The forum provided an invaluable platform for direct engagement between regulatory bodies and the business community, promoting better understanding of compliance requirements while addressing
traders’ specific concerns about transitioning from informal to formal business operations.
