URSB Rolls out Stakeholder Engagements on Non-Individual Register across Uganda
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau has today commenced a nationwide series of stakeholder consultative engagements aimed at advancing the implementation of the Non-Individual Register (NIR), a major reform designed to strengthen transparency, coordination, and compliance in Uganda’s registration ecosystem.
The engagements, which kicked off in Mbale City, bring together Chief Administrative Officers, District Commercial Officers, Community Development Officers, and other key stakeholders from local governments across the country.
The Non-Individual Register will serve as a centralized repository for all non-individual entities operating in Uganda, including companies, partnerships, associations, cooperatives, and non-governmental organizations.

Speaking during the engagements, the commissioner Finance and Administration Mr. Ambrose Ekaju emphasized that the new system seeks to eliminate fragmented registration processes that have for years existed across multiple agencies.
He added that the NIR will improve access to services, strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance accountability, and support informed decision-making for both government and the private sector.
URSB further reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Local Governments and development partners to build an efficient, coordinated, and business-friendly registration framework that supports Uganda’s socio-economic transformation agenda.
The regional consultative workshops will continue across various districts including Jinja, Kampala, Gulu, Masaka, Arua, and Mbarara as the Bureau intensifies awareness and stakeholder participation in shaping the register.
