URSB Brings Business Registration Closer to Communities
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has stepped up efforts to make business registration more accessible through mass registration clinics in Kayunga, Nakifuma, Ngoma, and Jinja City.
The outreach initiative targets entrepreneurs, traders, and small business owners, providing on-site registration services, advisory support, and guidance on compliance requirements. By taking services directly to communities, URSB reduces barriers such as travel costs and time constraints that often hinder business formalisation.
At these clinics, participants can register businesses, conduct name searches, understand legal obligations, and access information on intellectual property protection. Formalising a business brings numerous benefits, including increased credibility, access to financing, eligibility for government programs, and the ability to enter formal contracts and expand into wider markets.

Patricia Opoka, Assistant Commissioner, Registration Services, emphasized the initiative’s purpose: “These clinics are about bringing services closer to the people and ensuring every entrepreneur has the opportunity to formalise their business. Registered businesses gain visibility, trust, and access to opportunities that support long-term growth.”
Through this outreach, URSB is strengthening inclusive business development across Uganda, equipping enterprises with the tools needed to thrive in the formal economy. By promoting accessibility and awareness, the Bureau ensures that more Ugandans can benefit from the protections, opportunities, and credibility that come with formal registration.

URSB continues to lead efforts to create a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable business environment for all.
