“Quality is for Everybody” – QMS Consultant Challenges URSB to Walk the Talk

The Quality Management System (QMS) Consultant, Mr. Vicent Ddamulira, has described the launch of the QMS document implementation at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau as a new turning point in the institution’s journey towards excellence.

The launch, held at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC), was guided by the theme: “Walking the Talk, Doing it Right All the Time.”

Mr. Ddamulira noted that the project has now entered a fresh phase. “Today is another turning point in the project. We are refueling,” he said. At the start, the guiding theme was, “How do you do what you do? Find areas of improvement as a beginning point.” Moving forward, he revealed, the focus will be on converting walking into the talk.

“Can we walk the talk, do it right? Until we walk the talk, it all remains theoretical. It is in the next phase that we generate the required evidence,” he explained. He emphasized the principle of “say what you do” and “do what you say” as the foundation of any effective quality management system.

Commending URSB for embracing automation, Ddamulira said the transition from paper-based systems to digital ones marks a significant stride. “I salute URSB for the automation. We are moving away from paperwork. The key question is: how do we standardize what we do?”

In his message, he reminded staff that quality is not reserved for a few individuals but is the responsibility of all. “Quality is for everybody,” he concluded.
