Registrar General Urges Women to Break Barriers and Lead with Confidence

The Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, has called on women to rise above gender bias and workplace stereotypes, urging them to seize opportunities in all fields, including those traditionally dominated by men.

Speaking recently to women in management at CEVA on the topic “What It Takes to Be a Successful Woman Leader: Challenges and Tips,” Ms. Kainobwisho commended the organization for its visionary approach to transforming women’s roles in leadership. She noted that seeing more women take up positions in sectors once closed to them is a sign of progress worth building on.

As a woman leader, she addressed critical issues facing professional women today, including gender bias, work-life balance, and imposter syndrome. She also shared practical advice for achieving top leadership roles, encouraging women to leverage their strengths, sharpen leadership skills, and embrace continuous personal growth.

“Confidence, assertive communication, and mentorship are powerful tools for breaking glass ceilings,” she said. “Advocate for yourself, challenge unconscious bias, and foster environments where inclusivity thrives.”

Ms. Kainobwisho emphasized that success is not defined by gender but by the ability to lead with vision, resilience, and purpose. Her message resonated with attendees, many of whom said they felt inspired to pursue leadership paths with determination.

The session served as both a motivational talk and a call to action, reminding women that the journey to the top begins with believing in their capabilities and refusing to be limited by societal expectations.
