URSB Pledges Full Support for JLOS 25th Anniversary Celebrations
The Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, has reaffirmed URSB’s commitment to supporting the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) as it prepares to mark 25 years of transforming Uganda’s justice system.
The pledge came during a courtesy visit by Mr. Edgar Kuhimbisa, Technical Advisor for E-Governance at the JLOS Secretariat, who called on the Registrar General on Thursday, 19th March 2026, to brief her on plans to commemorate the milestone anniversary.
JLOS was established in 1999 as a sector-wide reform programme bringing together government institutions with closely linked mandates in the administration of justice, maintenance of law and order, and promotion of human rights, with URSB among its member institutions.
During the meeting, Ms. Kainobwisho expressed appreciation for the enduring partnership between JLOS and URSB, recognising the significant support JLOS has extended to URSB over the years. She noted that the relationship has been instrumental in strengthening URSB’s capacity to deliver on its mandate of promoting a competitive business environment and institutional reform, especially on digitalization.
Mr. Kuhimbisa, in turn, commended URSB for the exceptional client service standards the Bureau has demonstrated, describing it as a standout performer among JLOS institutions. He noted that URSB’s commitment to service excellence set a benchmark worth celebrating and emulating across the sector, adding that the Bureau’s strides in digital service delivery and client responsiveness had distinguished it within the JLOS family.
Responding to the news of the upcoming 25th anniversary, Ms. Kainobwisho expressed enthusiasm for the commemorations and affirmed URSB’s readiness to play an active role in ensuring their success.
