Driving a Culture of Quality: Registrar General Applauds URSB’s ISO Milestone
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has reached a major institutional milestone with the attainment of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, reinforcing its commitment to efficient, transparent, and client-focused service delivery.
Speaking during the celebration of the achievement, the Registrar General Ms Mercy K. Kainobwisho, described the certification as a significant step in strengthening the Bureau’s service culture and institutional systems.
She noted that the globally recognised standard provides a structured framework that will help the Bureau continuously evaluate and improve its processes while ensuring consistent service delivery to clients.
“This milestone demonstrates our commitment to delivering services that are faster, more reliable, and aligned with global standards,” Ms Kainobwisho said.
ISO 9001:2015 is the world’s leading quality management standard and emphasizes customer satisfaction, risk-based thinking, process efficiency, and continuous improvement across organisational systems.
For URSB, the certification represents more than international recognition, it signals a deeper institutional transformation aimed at improving governance, operational performance, and client experience. The Bureau plays a key role in Uganda’s economic ecosystem by facilitating business registration, protecting intellectual property rights, and related registries.
Ms Kainobwisho emphasized that sustaining the certification will require collective commitment from staff across the institution.
“This achievement is only the beginning. Our focus now is to institutionalize this culture of quality so that every service we deliver reflects efficiency, accountability, and excellence,” she said.
