URSB Reaffirms Commitment to Wellness and HIV Prevention on World AIDS Day
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has joined the global community in commemorating World AIDS Day, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a healthy and empowered workforce. Marked every 1 December, World AIDS Day serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS, the progress made in prevention and treatment, and the continued need to support affected individuals and communities.
Through our Workplace HIV & AIDS Committee, URSB has strengthened efforts to promote employee wellness, prevention awareness, and access to support services. The committee runs continuous sensitization programmes, peer education activities, and health outreach initiatives aimed at ensuring that staff have the knowledge and resources needed to protect themselves and their families.
URSB’s approach aligns with national and global strategies that emphasize workplace involvement as a key pillar in combating HIV/AIDS. By integrating wellness into day-to-day operations, the Bureau contributes to reducing stigma, encouraging early testing, and supporting safe and healthy work environments.
The institution also acknowledges the vital role of information in transforming attitudes and inspiring positive behavioral change. Through internal campaigns and staff engagement sessions, URSB encourages open dialogue and shared responsibility in addressing HIV-related challenges.
“As an institution that serves millions of Ugandans, we recognize that our staff are our greatest asset,” URSB notes in its World AIDS Day message. “We remain committed to empowering our workforce and contributing to a Uganda free from HIV/AIDS.”
This year’s observance reinforces URSB’s long-standing commitment to employee welfare and national health goals.
