URSB Honors Designers, Panelists, and Judges with Certificates of Appreciation
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has recognized the contributions of key stakeholders, designers, panelists, and judges who took part in the country’s first-ever Brand Protection Symposium, held on Thursday, September 18, at the Uganda Business Facilitation Center (UBFC), Kololo.
The symposium, themed “Protect Your Creativity – Register Your Trademarks and Designs,” brought together more than 250 participants from the fashion and business sectors. It focused on empowering creatives with knowledge about intellectual property (IP) rights and how these can safeguard livelihoods while promoting innovation.
At the close of the event, URSB awarded certificates of appreciation to fashion designers who showcased their work, panelists who shared their experiences, and judges who evaluated the runway exhibition. The gesture was aimed at acknowledging their efforts in shaping Uganda’s growing creative industry.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Mark Tugume, Senior Registration Officer, and MC for the symposium, noted that recognition is an important motivator for innovators. “These certificates symbolize our appreciation for your contribution to brand protection and creativity. They also reflect the bureau’s commitment to supporting designers and entrepreneurs who are building Uganda’s future through innovation,” he said.
The awards capped a day that featured inspiring stories, engaging discussions, and an exciting fashion exhibition powered by Crystal Models Africa.
By honoring participants, URSB reinforces the message that protecting and celebrating creativity is central to strengthening Uganda’s creative economy.
