URSB to Host Brand Protection Symposium for Entrepreneurs and Designers
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has announced a Brand Protection Symposium set for Thursday, 18th September 2025, at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC), Level 2 Auditorium.
The full-day event will focus on empowering entrepreneurs, fashion designers, and SMEs with practical knowledge on protecting their intellectual property.
Organized in partnership with the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) and the Pearl of Africa Fashion Alliance (PAFA), the symposium will tackle a critical issue faced by many creatives and businesses: loss of originality through imitation and counterfeiting.
Under the theme “Protect your creativity, Register your Trademarks and Designs”, participants will gain insights into the importance of safeguarding their brands, the legal frameworks available, and the step-by-step process of registering their trademarks and designs. With Uganda’s fashion and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sectors growing rapidly, brand protection is increasingly vital to ensuring sustainability, competitiveness, and global recognition.
“Many talented entrepreneurs and designers lose out because their ideas are copied without protection. This symposium is about turning creativity into lasting value,” URSB emphasized.
The symposium is open to all innovators, business owners, and creatives who want to secure their intellectual property. Interested participants are encouraged to attend and learn how to transform their ideas into protected assets that drive growth.
