URSB participates in the Uganda Law Society TechFest 2025

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) participated in the two-day Uganda Law Society (ULS) TechFest 2025, held on August 14th to 15th, 2025, at the Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo, emphasizing its role as the national office driving digital innovation.

The ULS TechFest 2025 aimed to explore the transformative role of technology in the legal profession and justice system. Moving beyond traditional legal conferences, the lawyers, tech innovators, policymakers, and service providers discussed and experienced how digital solutions are reshaping Uganda’s legal and business environment.

The festival emphasized the “Radical New Bar” vision, highlighting inclusivity and digital transformation within the legal profession.

During panel discussions, Commissioner ICT Mr. Arthur Kwesiga engaged participants on leveraging technology to optimize processes, reduce delays, and improve customer experience. He also highlighted practical ways innovators and businesses can use URSB’s digital platforms to protect intellectual property and access essential services efficiently.

The event also provided opportunities for attendees to engage with legal technology tools and explore how AI is changing legal practice, including contract drafting and judgment summarization

Further still, the techfest provided a collaborative space for participants to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and discuss challenges in adopting digital solutions. URSB’s presence manifested its efforts to drive innovation, and support Uganda’s transition to a digitally enabled economy, while ensuring services remain efficient, transparent, and client-focused.
