Experiential: Mass Business Registration Drives in Makindye, Kawempe, Bwaise, Kikoni, and Kamwokya Excite Business Owners

In a strategic push to deepen business formalisation and promote inclusive economic growth, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has launched Mass Business Registration Experiential Drives across the five divisions of Kampala and Mukono Municipality.

The 11-day initiative, which started June 20, 2025, brought mobile registration clinics, community activations, and advisory services directly to entrepreneurs at the grassroots level.

The drives are part of URSB’s broader national campaign to simplify access to formal business registration and promote compliance with legal requirements.

Target areas included Makindye, Bwaise, Kawempe, Kawaala, Kasubi, Rubaga, Kikoni, and Nakawa. Each location featured mobile info booths and service points staffed by a multidisciplinary URSB team providing on-the-spot registration, guidance, and technical support.

These drives are designed to demystify the business registration process and empower informal business owners with knowledge and access.

By bringing services closer to the people, URSB aims to strengthen its visibility, bridge knowledge gaps, and significantly increase the number of micro and small enterprises entering Uganda’s formal economy.
