URSB’s ICT team paves way for a bright digital future at performance retreat

With a renewed vision for digital excellence, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau’s (URSB) ICT and Innovation team recently concluded its department performance retreat in Kalangala district.

Held from June 3rd to 6th 2025, at Brovad Sands Lodge, Kalangala the 4-day event, themed “Powering
URSB’s Digital Transformation” was graced by the bureau’s technology experts and selected staff from other departments to chart a course towards greater efficiency and customer-centricity.

The retreat began with a tranquil ferry ride across Lake Victoria, setting the tone for four days of collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning. Key sessions focused on driving critical ICT initiatives,
including Front Office upgrades, Online Business Registration System (OBRS) enhancements, and the SIMPO system upgrade, aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery.

Spearheading discussions on the ICT Strategy and Policy, Mr. Arthur Kwesiga, Commissioner for ICT and Innovation, noted that, “This retreat is a valuable opportunity for our ICT team to reflect on our successes, identify areas for improvement, and chart a course for the next financial year. The innovative spirit and teamwork displayed here will propel URSB’s digital journey forward.”

Equipped with new insights and renewed passion, URSB’s ICT team is poised to lead the Bureau’s next wave of digital transformation.
