Upgrade yourselves: Registrar General inspires staff during appreciation month
As the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) celebrates Staff Appreciation Month this May, Registrar General Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho delivered an inspiring message that emphasised personal growth alongside gratitude.
“This is a moment to reflect and upgrade yourself,” she urged her team at the Georgian House offices. Ms. Kainobwisho encouraged staff to invest in their growth by reading, networking, and developing new skills, highlighting that working at URSB is about more than just stamping documents or processing registrations; it’s about transforming lives.
She challenged employees to balance their contributions to the bureau with their responsibilities to their families, stating, “Give 30% to URSB and 70% to your families. Ensure they succeed too.” Ms. Kainobwisho invited staff to conduct a weekend audit of their lives emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, and financially, urging them to adopt a growth mindset and nurture their networks.
She also expressed gratitude to long-serving clients and teams who have supported the institution, reminding staff that their contributions are valuable and do not go unnoticed.
Mr. Walid Kule, Assistant Commissioner for Business Registration, praised the Registrar General for her enormous leadership and continuous support to the staff.
Staff Appreciation Month serves not only as a celebration but also as a call to action for continuous growth and adaptation in a changing environment. Ms. Kainobwisho emphasised that staff are not just workers; they are leaders, parents, and change-makers. “Always have a spirit of gratitude,” she concluded, reinforcing the importance of recognising contributions within the organisation.
