Regional meeting on the development of a TISC network in Africa

URSB participated in a WIPO-ARIPO regional meeting on the development of a regional Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) network, which took place at the ARIPO headquarters in Harare, Zimbabwe on 21st & 22nd May 2025. URSB was represented by Mr. Lumu Bob Rogers, Senior Registration Officer.

The aim of the regional meeting was to identify and disseminate good practices for developing effective national TISC networks, promote the effective integration of national TISC networks into innovation ecosystems and foster regional cooperation between national TISC networks in ARIPO member states, including through the further development of the ARIPO regional TISC action.

The meeting attracted TISC focal points from Lesotho, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Malawi, Mauritius, Eswatini, Mozambique, Zanzibar, Tanzania, Namibia, Liberia, Cabo Verde, Rwanda, Sao
Tome et Principe, Zambia and Uganda.

The participants discussed progress, challenges in TISCs administration, exchanged experiences and strategised on strengthening their national TISC networks.
