URSB appears before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprise (COSASE)
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) on Wednesday, 14th May 2025, appeared before the committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State enterprises (COSASE) to respond to the audit report for the year ended December 2024.
Led by the Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K Kainobwisho, URSB provided satisfactory responses to issues raised in the report, further bolstering URSB’s position as an accountable and transparent public institution further bolstering URSB’s position as an accountable and transparent public institution.
In her remarks, the Registrar General provided clarity of URSB’s operations as well as performance of the CCFA budget under the Directorate of Insolvency and Receivership. Key to note was URSB’s commitment to not incurring arrears, ensuring adherence to accounting standards while promoting value for money in all transactions.
Hon. Allan Mayanja, Vice Chairperson of the committee, appreciated URSB for abiding by statutory obligations, adding that the committee was interested in ensuring value for taxpayers’ money. Hon. Mayanja appreciated the Registrar General for the effective leadership exhibited and encouraged members of Top management to continue supporting the leadership of the institution.
Hon. Dan Itungo, a member of the committee, noted that URSB was among the notable public institutions that have embraced automation, excellence in service delivery and requested that more resources be dedicated to enhancing communication and awareness about the services.
