URSB and partners take to Radio West to highlight formalisation benefits
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Mbarara Regional Office joined forces with
representatives from Uganda Revenue Authority and Mbarara City officials for an informative radio talk
show last week.
The collaborative team appeared on Radio West to educate listeners about the Taxpayer Register Expansion Programme (TREP) and clarify the responsibilities of various stakeholders involved.
During the hour-long broadcast, officials offered insights into how TREP aims to expand the tax base while supporting business formalisation across the region.
The panel explained the seamless coordination between government agencies to streamline services for business owners and entrepreneurs. “Our goal is to demystify the registration process and highlight the benefits of operating within formal structures,” noted a URSB representative during the programme.
“When businesses register properly, they gain access to government services, financing opportunities, and legal protections.“ URA officials elaborated on the tax implications and advantages for compliant businesses, while Mbarara City representatives outlined local support initiatives for newly registered entities.
Listeners participated actively through call-ins, with many expressing appreciation for the clear explanation of each institution’s role in the business ecosystem. The broadcast concluded with practical
guidance on how local entrepreneurs can access registration services at the URSB Mbarara Regional Office.
