URSB aims for global reach in business registration and service delivery

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is projecting a progression for global influence in business registration and service delivery, as revealed by Registrar General Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho during a high-level exchange with a high-level delegation from Malawi.

In a fascinating presentation at the Uganda Business Facilitation Center, Kololo, Ms. Kainobwisho outlined URSB’s transformative reforms, positioning the agency as a success in digital governance and business formalisation. She asserted that the ongoing reforms are fundamentally reshaping the landscape for investors and entrepreneurs alike by simplifying registration processes and bolstering economic
inclusivity.

“Our services have evolved from cumbersome manual procedures to near-complete automation,” highlighted Ms. Kainobwisho, underscoring the agency’s commitment to innovation.

She celebrated the establishment of business clinics that have not only streamlined local registration efforts but have also extended their reach to the Ugandan diaspora, signaling a beyond-borders approach.

“Who knew we would be able to conduct business clinics that exceed borders?” she remarked, emphasising URSB’s aspiration to make a significant global impact.

URSB’s initiatives are a clear indication of its determination to not just lead regionally but also make substantial contributions to international business environments.

As URSB continues to drive reforms, it’s vision for a globally influential service delivery model is set to enhance investor confidence, attract foreign investment, and affirm Uganda’s position in the global
marketplace.

The delegation led by the Malawi Minister of Justice, Hon. Titus Edward Songiso Mvalo, was in Uganda for a four-day bench-marking visit which included the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).
