URSB SACCO celebrates a remarkable year of growth and governance

The URSB Staff Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (SACCO) is celebrating an exceptionally successful year, as highlighted during its Annual General Meeting held on 28th March 2025 in Kololo.

The Chairman Executive Board, Mr. Ronald Lutunda, expressed appreciation for the 80% attendance, noting that it is a positive sign for the cooperative. He remarked that the financial statements demonstrate remarkable resilience and prudent management.

Members’ savings increased by an impressive 19.28%, reaching UGX 827,603,448, while share capital contributions rose by 33.61% to UGX 1,520,310,000. These figures underscore the SACCO’s financial health and sustainability.

“We are thrilled to report such impressive growth in our savings and capital,” he said. “This is a testament to the trust our members have placed in us and our unwavering commitment to their financial well-being.”

The SACCO has also made significant strides in expanding its membership, growing from 233 to 261 members.

Mr. Steven Baryevuga, Chairman Supervisory Committee, emphasised that the SACCO’s successes are rooted in its strong adherence to principles of good governance.

“Under the Chairman’s leadership, the cooperative has maintained the highest standards of transparency, internal controls, and regulatory compliance solidifying its reputation for integrity and accountability,” he explained.

Mr. Baryevuga added that members can take pride in knowing their SACCO is not only financially robust but also operates with utmost transparency and responsibility.
