Registrar General lauds URSB Muslim community on values
The Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, extended warm wishes to the URSB Muslim community as they celebrated Eid al-Fitr.
In a heartfelt message delivered via email, the Registrar General praised the Muslim staff for their dedication and service to the nation through their work at URSB. She highlighted the exemplary qualities demonstrated by Muslim colleagues, noting their “discipline, strong values, and commitment” shown over the years.
Eid is a significant holiday for Muslims around the world that holds deep spiritual and communal meaning. It marks the end of Ramadhan, the holy month of fasting and represents spiritual renewal, gratitude, and celebration after a month of discipline, self-restraint, and devotion. The name literally means “Festival of Breaking the Fast”.
The Muslim staff had been hosted to an Iftar dinner earlier in March where they broke their fast as they prepared for the end of the fasting season. As Muslims around the world marked the end of Ramadhan, the message from the Registrar General was timely in reminding all staff about the key values of self-reflection, gratitude and spiritual well-being. The message concluded with the Registrar General wishing the Muslim staff “peace, renewed strength, and continued blessings.”
URSB joins other government agencies across Uganda in acknowledging the significance of Eid al-Fitr to the Muslim community.
