Deputy Registrar General honours the role of women in leadership
URSB marked International Women’s Day with a remarkable celebration, highlighting the pivotal role women play in every organisation. Deputy Registrar General, Mr. Alex Anganya, addressed the female staff, acknowledging the significant strides women have made in Uganda.
“Women are setting the pace for excellence in our country,” he said, reflecting on the many distinguished women who have contributed to the success of the organisation.
Mr. Anganya emphasised the importance of continuing to break barriers, noting that while progress has been made, much work remains to ensure opportunities are accessible to all girls and women. He also highlighted the gender ratio at URSB, where women outnumber men, noting the growing representation of women in leadership roles.
The celebration also recognised the recent achievement of the Registrar General being named Public Servant of the Year — a testament to the leadership and dedication of women in public service.
Reflecting on URSB’s commitment to supporting women, Mr. Anganya mentioned the organisation’s supportive work-life policies, including maternity leave, as vital steps towards ensuring women thrive in their careers. “Today we celebrate not only the achievements of women but the stories of how we can continue to support each other,” he concluded.
