Board Chairman calls for operationalisation of Jinja Regional Office
HE. Amb. Canon Francis Butagira, the Chairman of the URSB Board of Directors has called on Management to operationalise the establishment of a regional office in Jinja. Ambassador Butagira was giving remarks during the Top and Senior Management retreat in Entebbe.
The Board Chairman said this would go a long way in improving access to URSB services and that it would be a clear indication that URSB was in touch with the ordinary citizen – a key client of URSB. He also noted that the regional office would solve the challenge of limited access to the internet since staff would be on hand to assist clients. He said his proposal for Jinja was driven by the reports on registration and economic activity from the Busoga sub-region.
Additionally, he encouraged the Directorate of Intellectual Property to strengthen efforts in growing the number of Geographical Indications citing the sweet bananas that were a low-hanging fruit for registration.
