URSB DISCUSSES DATA VALIDATION REQUIREMENTS WITH EASTERN UGANDA STAKEHOLDERS

Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) was last week invited to take part in discussions led by the First African Bicycle Information Organization (FABIO) at Mbale Courts View Hotel from 1st to 3rd October, 2024.


The conference was held under the theme, ‘Leveraging compliance and complementarity for sustainable
impact’. The URSB Mbale regional office utilized this platform to communicate with Civil society organizations registered as corporate entities regarding their compliance obligations towards URSB, including the requirement to submit annual returns annually in order to avoid being struck off.
URSB Mbale Regional Head, Mr. Daniel Nasasira, addressed the ongoing data validation process for the Online Business Registration System (OBRS).


During the engagement, URSB emphasized the importance of companies registered before December 2021 updating their information on the new OBRS platform to ensure accurate and up-to-date records


Additionally, URSB used of the occasion to deliberate on the rationale behind the mandatory submission of the beneficial ownership form by companies and the benefits of formalization. The conference provided a forum for us to address attendees’ inquiries, which encompassed various topics, including name reservation and the new fees structure.
