World IP Day 2026: URSB Celebrates Innovation and Creativity in Sports and Beyond
As World Intellectual Property (IP) Day 2026 approaches, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is preparing to celebrate under this year’s theme, “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate!”.
The day highlights the growing importance of protecting creativity, athletic output, and innovation in a rapidly evolving digital and economic landscape.
World IP Day serves as a reminder that intellectual property is central to value creation. From broadcast rights and sponsorship deals to image rights and merchandising, IP safeguards ensure that talent is rewarded and innovation is monetized.
URSB is also urging universities participating in the World IP Day Moot Court Competition 2026 to submit their memorials by 5th April 2026. While the competition is an exciting part of the celebrations, URSB emphasizes that World IP Day is about celebrating all systems that sustain innovation and creativity, which includes sports, arts, or technology.
Preparations are in full momentum, and the Bureau looks forward to engaging stakeholders, students, innovators, and sports professionals in a series of activities aimed at raising awareness of IP rights, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring that Ugandan talent thrives on both local and global stages.
This year, URSB encourages everyone to embrace the “Ready, Set, Innovate” spirit, protect your creativity, value your work, and innovate with confidence.
