URSB Women Staff Urged to Lead in Building Strong Public Institutions
The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, has called on URSB women staff to take a leading role in strengthening public institutions, highlighting their impact on service delivery and national development.
Speaking at the URSB Women’s Day celebration 2026, held under the theme “Empowered Women, Stronger Institutions,” at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC), she praised women for their professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service.
She noted that women at URSB play a key role in business formalisation, marriage registration, document processing, and intellectual property protection. These services, she said, directly improve livelihoods by enabling access to credit, protecting families under the law, and ensuring security of property.

Ms Buzeki also pointed to the strong partnership between URSB and KCCA, especially through the Taxpayer Register Expansion Program, which has boosted revenue and improved service delivery in Kampala.
She emphasized that women’s leadership is critical in areas such as urban governance, public health, and community programs. At KCCA, several departments are led by women, contributing to efficient and people-centred services.
“Young women were encouraged to remain focused, disciplined, and confident, and to embrace leadership opportunities.” She noted.
She concluded by urging women to support one another and uphold professionalism, noting that strong institutions are built on the dedication of their people.
The event celebrated the achievements of women and reaffirmed their role in shaping Uganda’s future.
