URSB pays a Courtesy call to Roofings Group

As part of efforts to popularize intellectual property (IP) protection among industry players, a team from the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) led by the Commissioner Intellectual Property, Mr. Mugabe Robert, visited the Roofings Processing Plant located in Namanve Industrial Park.

The delegation met with the Roofings Group management to discuss the value of protecting intellectual property and the role IP plays in safeguarding innovation, brand identity, and business growth.

The engagement emphasized the importance of brand protection with emphasis on trademark registration as a key tool in protecting brands in a competitive market. The delegation commended Roofings for proactively protecting its brand by registering its trademarks with the URSB, noting this as a positive example for other manufacturers in the country.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Mugabe appreciated Roofings Group for the vital services they have rendered to the country, particularly through the production of quality products that support national development and industrial growth.

The Roofings team welcomed the URSB delegation and conducted a guided tour of the massive and modern processing plant, offering insights into the company’s operations, manufacturing processes and future growth.

URSB reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the private sector to promote awareness and uptake of intellectual property services as a means to innovation and industrialisation for sustainable national economic development and social transformation.
