Uganda’s Future Brightens at Inaugural Kampala Business Forum 2025 with Strong Public-Private Collaboration

The Inaugural Kampala Business Forum 2025 held on 14th December at the Kampala Serena Hotel brought together government leaders, private sector captains, and development partners in a shared drive toward sustainable economic transformation.

Organized under the theme “The Power of Collaboration: Public-Private Partnerships for National Transformation,” the first-ever forum spotlighted Uganda’s collective commitment to strengthening the business environment, fostering investment, and creating jobs across the country.

The event was graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as Chief Guest, underscoring the pivotal role of the private sector in national development. President Museveni commended the business community for promoting peace, stability, and facilitating access to regional and global markets; foundational elements that enhance Uganda’s attractiveness as an investment destination.

“You are the middle-class people… profit makers, not peasants,” he remarked, emphasizing that prosperity is a result of deliberate effort and productive enterprise.

In his keynote address, the President reaffirmed the Government’s support for infrastructure development, market access, and a stable macroeconomic environment, key enablers of business growth, and urged businesses to actively pursue regional and international opportunities.

The forum was also a platform that highlighted URSB’s efforts to advance business formalization in line with its Strategic Plan IV, which aims to accelerate private sector growth.

Registrar General Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho’s participation emphasized URSB’s commitment to fostering strong public-private partnerships, affirming that collaboration remains central to advancing Uganda’s development goals and positioning the nation as a premier destination for doing business.
