URSB’s Latest Triumph: Government Agency of the Year 2025
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has been named Government Agency of the Year at the KACITA Quality Awards 2025 — outperforming other leading agencies such as Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
This award is a recognition of URSB’s exceptional commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction across its services.
This prestigious award builds on a strong legacy of recognition for URSB. For example, under the leadership of our Registrar General, Mercy K. Kainobwisho, URSB was previously voted “Government Agency of the Year” by the private sector at the 2023 awards by Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), and the Agency has also received honours for digital excellence and transformative public service.

The 2025 award from KACITA arrives at an opportune moment as URSB rolls out its ambitious mass-awareness campaign to increase uptake of business registration services. This campaign is part of the Agency’s 5-Year Strategic Plan to establish URSB as a “Centre of Excellence” in business facilitation. The recognition strengthens URSB’s mandate to formalise businesses, expand public–private partnerships, and streamline start-up processes for entrepreneurs.
For Ugandan business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, this means enhanced confidence: registering a business with URSB is now backed by consistent quality, reliability, and an institutional commitment to service improvement.
As URSB celebrates this milestone, the Agency invites all stakeholders, from SMEs to large investors, to engage with its enhanced registration services and to join in the vision of a thriving, formalised Ugandan business sector.
