Put Your Troubles Aside and Focus on God”—Registrar General Inspires Hope at URSB Thanksgiving Breakfast
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) held its Annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast with a heartfelt message of gratitude from Registrar General Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho.
Speaking under the theme “Thankful for Today’s Achievements and Believing for a Better Tomorrow,” she urged the URSB family to embrace gratitude as both a grounding principle and a source of strength for the year ahead.
In her address, Ms. Kainobwisho reminded staff and guests of the profound blessing of simply being present. “Put your troubles on the side and focus on God,” she said. “Some wanted to make it today but they didn’t. Some people were lost today, but they are here. Some people are jobless on the streets and are more qualified than us, but we are here.”

Her message struck at the heart of the event’s purpose: to pause, reflect, and acknowledge that every achievement and every moment of progress is anchored in divine grace.
She noted that the day was not just ceremonial, but deeply spiritual. “We have been praying that this is the day the Lord has made, and we shall rejoice and be glad in it,” she affirmed.
The Registrar General celebrated URSB’s milestones, attributing them not only to hard work and dedication but also to God’s unwavering guidance. “We wish to give glory to God, nothing but God,” she emphasized.
The Thanksgiving Breakfast closed on a warm, uplifting note, leaving the URSB community inspired, united, and spiritually renewed as they look forward to a year of continued service and greater accomplishments.
