URSB Recognised for Outstanding Contribution to Safe Motherhood
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has been honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Safe Motherhood Award at the 5th National Safe Motherhood Awards, organised by the Ministry of Health and its partners. The ceremony, held last week on October 24, celebrated individuals and organisations championing safe motherhood initiatives across Uganda.
The award recognises URSB’s continued commitment to improving maternal and child healthcare through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. In April 2023, URSB donated essential medical equipment, including a mobile ultrasound scan machine, baby scales, and glucometer strips, to Kawempe National Referral Hospital to enhance safe deliveries and neonatal care.
According to the Ministry of Health, the recognition emphasizes the impact of public institutions that extend their mandate beyond service delivery to address community health challenges. URSB’s contribution has helped reduce patient wait times, supplement existing hospital equipment, and support the government’s efforts to improve maternal health outcomes.
URSB’s CSR program aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which calls for reducing maternal mortality and ensuring healthy lives for all. Through such initiatives, URSB continues to demonstrate its dedication to community welfare and national development.
The bureau is proud to be recognised for its contribution to safe motherhood. This award reaffirms our commitment to supporting communities and promoting health for all.
This recognition highlights URSB’s broader vision of empowering communities through impactful, people-centered initiatives.
