In her Independence message, Registrar General Mercy K. Kainobwisho saluted Uganda’s enduring spirit and highlighted 25 key achievements that define URSB’s transformation and contribution to national development.
“Greetings, colleagues in service. As Uganda marks 63 years of Independence on 9th October 2025, I salute our nation’s enduring resilience, unity, and progress,” Ms. Kainobwisho noted.
“At URSB, we take pride in our remarkable journey of transformation and national impact.” She added

Among the 25 milestones, she cited the digitization of official records, automation of services through platforms such as OBRS and IPAS, and the expansion of service access via new branches, TREP, and mass business registration drives.
She also pointed to URSB’s role in removing Uganda from the FATF grey list, ratifying international treaties, and strengthening partnerships with institutions such as WIPO and ARIPO.
Other highlights include the construction and occupation of URSB’s new Kololo premises, reforms to intellectual property and business laws, the creation of new departments like Copyright and Neighboring Rights, and the rollout of the ISO Quality Management System to enhance institutional performance. “These milestones are a reflection of our commitment to formalisation, innovation, and service excellence,” she said, urging staff and citizens alike to safeguard the nation’s gains with integrity and dedication.
