URSB was represented by Mr. William Tumwine, Assistant Commissioner for Copyright and Neighbouring Rights, who, jointly with Navio and his team discussed the role of copyright in supporting and sustaining Uganda’s creative industry.
Mr. Tumwine emphasized that copyright protection gives artists legal ownership and recognition for their work, ensuring they can earn fairly through royalties, licensing, and other commercial opportunities.
He further noted that by protecting their intellectual property, creators safeguard their artistic contributions and strengthen the foundation of Uganda’s growing creative economy. Mr. Tumwine commended Navio and his team for their continued commitment to excellence and encouraged them to champion copyright awareness among fellow artists.
