Hope Beyond Loss: Bulenzibuto Urges Entrepreneurs to Build Resilient Businesses

Mr. James Bulenzibuto, Chief Executive Officer of Elimu Trust Eastern Africa and Lead Facilitator of the Business Rescue and Aftercare Program (BRAP), has challenged participants in Cohort 4 to firmly ground their businesses in robust foundations, while remembering that loss, however painful, can pave the way to hope.

Speaking at the launch of BRAP’s newest cohort, Mr. Bulenzibuto called the platform “a place to learn, to share our stories, and to draw lessons from the challenges we face as entrepreneurs.”

A shining example of BRAP’s impact is Eunice Adubango, proprietor of Eunie’s Kitchen, who has transformed her passion for cooking into a flourishing business. Originally a civil engineer and lecturer, Eunice took bold steps away from academia into entrepreneurship. Her venture, which blends locally inspired cuisine, professional development, and quality service, has gained recognition for its consistency, hygiene, and creativity.

Mr. Bulenzibuto encouraged attendees to view failure not as a final verdict but as a call to adapt. “In this Cohort, we remind business owners that while loss is painful, there is always hope,” he said. He emphasized that the recovery journey requires deliberate effort, sound record-keeping, transparent governance, a customer-focused approach, and capitalizing on evolving market opportunities, including digital marketing and social media.

Looking ahead, he pledged that BRAP will continue to equip entrepreneurs not only to bounce back from setbacks but also to thrive in an ever-changing business landscape, with stories like that of Eunie’s Kitchen as proof of what is possible when passion meets discipline.
