Board Member, Hope Okeny Encourages Team Spirit Beyond the Pitch at Sports Gala

At the URSB Annual Sports Gala, Board Member Hope Okeny emphasized the importance of teamwork, urging staff to carry the enthusiasm from the day’s athletic events into their daily work.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Chairman, H.E. Amb. Francis Butagira, Ms. Okeny highlighted the significance of unity and collaboration, reinforcing that the spirit of the team extends well beyond the playing field.

“I believe we all had fun. We showed our energy, we showed our creativity,” she said, thanking the staff for their spirited participation. “What stood out most was the teamwork; cohesive, united. Even when we return to the office, let’s carry that same energy with us.”

Okeny praised the event not only for promoting wellness and fitness but for reinforcing important values like resilience, discipline, and collaboration. “The dedication and sportsmanship I witnessed today are qualities we need every day, not just on the field,” she noted.

She also applauded the gala’s theme, emphasizing how it reflected the importance of collective effort and togetherness in achieving institutional goals. “As I watched the talent on display, I saw more than just games; I saw the URSB spirit at its best.”

In closing, she urged staff to keep active, stay connected, and always play as one team, on and off the pitch.
