Korean IP Office Delegation Visits Uganda for IP Sharing Project
A delegation from the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) was recently in Kampala, advancing the implementation of the groundbreaking 2025 IP Sharing Project.
This six-day visit from the 8th to the 13th included KIPA officials and experts from Yonsei University’s Institute of African Studies was aimed at enhancing local technology solutions tailored to Uganda’s needs.
During their stay, the delegation had a formal meeting with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) to introduce the IP Sharing project and conducted final interviews to establish suitable technology setups. They performed crucial environmental analysis tests to identify optimal installation sites and evaluate the usability and scalability of chosen technologies.
A key focus of the project encompassed testing conditions for producing high-quality bricks, which are integral to the learning exchange program.
This visit signifies a pivotal moment in the partnership between Uganda and KIPA, emphasizing the introduction of technologies that address local challenges. The project targets two primary areas: Alternative Brick Making and Firing Technology at Nakawa Vocational Training College (NVTC) and Water Collection and Treatment Technology at Kololo Primary School.
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) expresses gratitude for the collaboration with KIPA, recognizing the transformative potential of these initiatives. The successful implementation of these projects promises to empower communities and foster sustainable development across Uganda, paving the way for innovative solutions to pressing local issues.
